On Friday, we celebrated International Day of Sign Language. We had a very special guest come into each class to teach us colours, animals and so much more. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn BSL and can’t wait to learn more.
Here is a quick snapshot of our day including some people you may recognise.
We've had a great week in Reception. The children have settled well into the daily routines and we are now in full swing with ReadWriteInc every morning - the children are enjoying learning their new sounds and are really keen to have a go at writing them in their choosing time too.
This week we met Mrs Deavin's friend, Monty the Maths bear - he needed our help with his counting. We showed him how to touch each item as he counts and move them into a line to make sure he doesn't miss out any objects.
On Friday we went to the hall and all worked together to try out different ways of moving - we had lots of fun.
We've also had lots of fun playing with our friends!
We are so proud of our nursery children settling back in these past two weeks. We have been very busy exploring all of the areas of the classroom and outdoors and can't wait for more adventures next week!
This week Year 1 have been studying Old Bear. We have been exploring items from the story and describing their features. We have then been acting out our favourite scenes and thinking about how the characters might feel. We have had lots of fun learning about our new story.
Year 5 have a wonderful morning with That History Bloke yesterday to start off their History topic about World War One.
Year 5 have had a busy end to their day with PE sessions from All Stars Sport and then their ukulele session from Gateshead Music Service.
A perfect Monday afternoon!
