Year 3 visited Segedunum in Wallsend and explored the Roman Fort, as well as part of Hadrians Wall. Whilst there, they underwent training for the Roman army looking at what the soldiers wore and equipment they used (kindly modelled by Mr Minett). They practiced some marching and even some battle techniques!
Year 6 will be working with local ceramics artist Christine Constant this term to produce a piece of artwork to go on display in the Shipley Art Gallery, in order to commemorate its centenary year.
Last week we popped over to meet Christine and explore the gallery, learning about its history in the process.
The children had a fantastic time working with the clay in the studio and are incredibly excited to begin work to produce the final piece. Watch this space...
A group of children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been enjoying working with 'Little Kickers', practicing their football skills.
The children are taking part in a range of activities to develop their agility, balance and co-ordination while scoring goals and having lots of fun.
