  • Home Learning Questionnaire

    Tue 29 Sep 2020 Mr C Wisby

    Dear Parent/Carer,

As we continue to support children and families throughout this period of uncertainty, we are looking to put plans in place in case there are any future school closures due to Covid19.

We have designed a questionnaire to help us in planning home learning activities to best support the children in the event of any closures.

This information will help us to make robust plans to ensure as little disruption as possible to your child's learning.

We would be most grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the Home Learning Questionnaire by following this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DRJMK63 or by using the attached QR code.

Please let us know if you are unable to complete the online version and we will send you a paper copy to complete and return. Could you please complete by Friday 2nd October 2020.

Thank you for your continued support.

    Yours Sincerely

    Mr C. Wisby

  • ‘That History Bloke’ visits Year 2

Fri 25 Sep 2020 Mr Rodger
Year 2 were lucky enough to be joined by 'That History Bloke' on Tuesday where we had our first introduction to the topic of the The Great Fire of Gateshead and Newcastle. We had the chance to look at and explore artefacts from Victorian times, as well as try on a Police outfit!! The children thoroughly enjoyed their morning and gained great insights into our history topic for the rest of the term.
  • Drop off/collections

Fri 11 Sep 2020 Miss Drury
After a successful start to our new drop off/collection arrangements, we have two additional year groups attending from Monday. Could we please remind everyone to adhere to social distancing and please only attend at your child's allocated time to assist with this. Many thanks
  • Updated September Plans

Tue 01 Sep 2020 Mr Wisby

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the start of the new academic year 20-21. Our intention is to give the children as normal a school year as possible. We have put plans in place to ensure this is done in a safe manner. The only time where our plans may change will be if decisions are made by local or national government which are beyond our control.

We shared with you an outline plan for September at the end of the summer term. We knew this would need to be amended as further guidance was released. We have also taken on board feedback from parents and staff on how to improve the plan.

In order for us to carry out our risk assessments and reopen plan, we would be most grateful if you would inform us if your child is classed as being clinically vulnerable. They are still required to attend school but we will put individual plans in place for these children.

To assist in transition for children returning to school, they will start in September on Tuesday 8th September in last years class with last years teacher and teaching assistant. They will complete a week in that class before moving up to their new class on Monday 14th September. The new reception class will have a delayed start of Monday 14th September to enable this transition to take place. In terms of attending school this week, please use the timings of their 20-21 year group.

We will need to continue to have a flexible start and end to the school day to aid with social distancing. Classes will operate as bubbles and will be kept separate from other bubbles as much as possible.

School will operate a soft start to the day. Children can be dropped off at school anytime between 8.30 and 9.00am at any of the 3 gates. There will be a member of staff on each gate to greet the children. At this point, parents are still unable to enter school premises. This will be reviewed at the end of half term. We would be most grateful if one parent only could attend for drop off / collection and vacate the school perimeter as soon as possible to avoid congestion.

If you need to discuss anything with the school office, your child's teacher or senior staff, this will need to be done by email or telephone call. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

There will be a staggered end to the day. Families with children in multiple classes will be grouped together and sent home at the earliest collection time e.g. if you have children in Year 1 & Year 6, both children will be able to be collected at 2.45pm.

Unfortunately we will be unable to offer breakfast club and after school clubs in the first instance. This will be reviewed at the end of half term. Children will be offered a grab and go breakfast in the classroom when they arrive at school. We will look to re-introduce the clubs as soon as we feel it is safe to do so.

If parents are using external providers for before and after school provision, including child minders, could they please let the school office know so we can liaise with them regarding plans.

Please see below for times to arrive at school and drop off / pick up locations:-
