• Year 1 Christmas Trail

  Year 1 went on a Christmas trail around Gibside. They were excellent at listening to the Elves clues and finding the reindeer food for Mrs Claus! They learnt how to say Merry Christmas in different languages and sang christmas songs for all the other visitors. To end their day they got cosy by the fire and toasted marshmallows. They thoroughly enjoyed their day and had big smiles on their face despite the cold weather!

• Year 2 Visit to Blue Reef Aquarium

  As part of our Geography focus, Year 2 visited the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth. We took part in a workshop looking at rock pool species that we might find, before exploring the aquarium, watching the sea lion show and walking down to the beach. Hats and scarfs were needed - next time let’s visit in the summer!

• Cheerleaders Eagles Performance

  The cheerleaders had a fantastic night on Friday performing at the Eagles basketball game! They did extremely well and we are very proud of them, well done girls!

  

• Remembrance Garden Visit

  Today Year 5 and 6 went along to Saltwell Park to visit the Garden of Remembrance commemorating those who bravely gave their lives in the World Wars and more recent conflicts. The children were extremely respectful during our visit and asked some insightful and thoughtful questions. All of the children found the trip extremely interesting as it demonstrated to them the age of many of the soldiers involved in the wars.

  

• Year 1 & 2 Olympic Visit

  Year 1 and 2 had a special visit from Olympian Peter Bakare. The children learnt all about healthy eating and took part in the Nutritroops session

  

• Nursery Halloween Stay and Play

  Parents and carers were invited in to Nursery on Wednesday for a stay and play session. The children got dressed up in fancy dress costumes and had their faces painted. Everyone then enjoyed some Halloween crafts and activities.
