  • EYFS Zoolab Visit

Wed 23 May 2018 Mrs Carey
Early Years had some very special visitors last week when ZooLab came to school, bringing with them a collection of mini beasts.

The children in Nursery and Reception Class, who have been learning about mini beasts through their Creepy Crawlies topic work, got to meet millipedes, scorpions, tarantulas, snails and a snake. The boys and girls were told some fascinating facts about the creatures and even got the chance to hold them!
  • Reception at South Dene Nursery

Sat 19 May 2018 Mrs. Carey

Earlier this week, the children in Reception enjoyed a visit to the South Dene Nursery near Saltwell Park.

They helped to choose plants for the Early Years outdoor area and are looking forward to planting them.

Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who helped with the visit.

  • Year 4 Live Tales Visit

Fri 04 May 2018 Mr Gray
On Thursday year 4 visited Live Tales at the Live Theatre on Newcastle Quayside. We did a physical warm up first with Jon Luke our facilitator then we talked about all of the stories that we love! We unfortunately had a visit from Jon Luke's boss saying he was sick of reading rubbish stories and he said that children were rubbish story writers because they always use other people's ideas. However, year 4 proved him wrong by creating their own published books, illustrated by a real life illustrator right there and then! We had a great day out and the children loved using their imaginations to write creatively.
