Keep up to date with the latest news in school here.
Our first annual awards event recognised children who had made a significant effort towards their academic or general development. This included demonstrating excellence in specific subjects or making good progress since September due to their commitment to their work.
Those selected this year were awarded their personalised trophies in front of their parents and the rest of our school community, reflecting the broad range of talents we are fortunate to work with.
A special additional prize (provided by Mr. Wisby) was handed out to one of our departing Y6 children who had maintained 100% attendance throughout his entire time at Caedmon.
Anansi, the winning family from our 2016 Sports Day, were recognised in a separate assembly, as were those individuals who had impressed staff with their performances on the day or positive sportsman-like attitude.
A huge 'well done' to all of those receiving awards. To everyone else... there is always next year so keep working hard and trying your best!
On the last day of term we said goodbye to our Year 6 children, as they had their final day at Caedmon. Over the years, particularly the two I've known them, they have been nothing less than an absolute credit to their families and themselves - kind, diligent and eager to be the absolute best they can be.
Their assembly was a fitting end to their time in our school: it has been a pleasure to work with all of them.
Here, for everyone to enjoy, is the final video from their class assembly this morning.
Huge congratulations to Caedmon's immensely talented team for being the overall winners of the High Five Netball tournament, the final round of which was held at Kingsmeadow today.
After 7 games this afternoon, they not only won every single match but they managed to not concede any points whatsoever.
Their epic final performances continued the successes of the previous two rounds (held earlier in the year), capping an excellent season with a well deserved first-place finish.
Well done to everyone who took part!
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their reward for having the best attendance two years running. Not only did they enjoy some delicious food, they also got to go to the cinema!
Let's see if they can make it three in a row next year, or will another class manage to beat them to the top prize?
Thursday 30th June saw a fantastic 'Olympic Monster Family Sports Day' for all of the children at school. Each of the monster families were assigned an Olympic country who they represented by making flags, banners and posters which were proudly paraded during the opening ceremonies as the national anthems were played. Once the events got under way children took part in sprints, egg and spoon, sack, skipping, long distance and hurdles races and took to the field to take part in Javelin, long stump, standing jump and tennis ball throws. Well done to everyone who took part and showed a fantastic attitude which was obvious from all of the smiling faces! All of the results fro each of the events have been added up and will be announced in celebration assembly next week. A massive well done to everyone who took part and showed a fantastic attitude!
