Yesterday, our school council visited local charity Feeding Families as part of our ongoing work with them. They had a very important job to get ready for an exciting project we are taking part in this summer!  

Year 4 had a fantastic trip to Kirkley Hall. We explored different types of trees in the forest and discovered why they are so important for the environment. Then, we visited the zoo, learned about various animals and their habitats. We also got to touch a snake and a gecko!  

Before half term, our Year 6s had a stadium tour of St James' Park! They explored the pitch from the stands, took a peek into the home and away dressing rooms and experienced the media centre firsthand. One of the highlights was definitely walking down the players' tunnel straight to pitc...

Year 2 have been creating collages in Art this week with a focus on different textures. They each chose a different scene that they wanted to replicate. Some of our ideas were a beach, the sky and a forest.  

In Year 5, we have been reading Long-Armed Ludy and the First Women’s Olympics. Today, we used drama to create freeze frames of some scenes from the book. We imagined how Ludy would be feeling during each of these scenes and recorded our ideas to help us write our final piece.  

Throughout the year, Years 3 and 5 have had the opportunity to work with Maths Whizz. Today, we have had a visit from Lindsay who works at Maths Whizz.
