Last week, some of our afternoon nursery children showed an interest in pretending to use a potato masher to make food in the home corner. We took the opportunity to use their interest to make a special snack - mashed banana on toast! The children predicted what they thought would happen when we used the masher then practised handling the tool safely, turn-taking and physical development skills to successful mash and spread the bananas onto toast. Lots of learning and a delicious, healthy snack!
