This week in Year 2, we have been learning about the Great Fire of London and exploring why so many people were affected.
The children worked brilliantly in groups to sort causes and effects, discussing how houses being close together and made from wood allowed the fire to spread quickly. We were really impressed with how they used words like “because” to explain their ideas.
To finish our learning, the children acted out the events of the fire. They showed fantastic teamwork as they recreated crowded streets, the spread of the fire, and how people struggled to escape.
It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explained their thinking and brought history to life.
