Year 3 have been learning all about fractions in Maths this morning!
First, we were introduced to a unit fraction and in pairs explored how we can represent this using paper bar models. Then, we used even more practical resources to sort different fractions!
We even had a big challenge to use our new knowledge and apply it to a real world scenario. Using our knowledge we shared chocolate into equal groups and made crispy cakes! We used mathematical language when discussing why we were sharing the mixture into equal groups and what that fraction would be!
Well done Year 3, what a fun lesson on fractions!
