This week in Year 4, we worked with 'That History Bloke'  and learned about the dangerous world of coal mining in the North East of England. We explored the various tools miners used and learned about Peter Barrett, a miner who tragically lost his life underground. Although the mines around Newcastle and Gateshead are closed now, they are an important part of history.
