Parents and Carers of Year 2 and 3 children come along to join us in having fun with your child. Sessions start Wednesday 9th June 9-11.30 am and will run for 5 weeks. There will be a visit to Bill Quay Farm, Great North Museum, Saltwell Park and lots of other fun activities for you and your child.
Your child will have recieved a letter to sign up for these activities and will be sent a reminder in the next few days. Alternatively you can ring 0191 4338678 and book a place yourself. Many thanks to all of the parents and carers who have given up their time to come into school to listen to our children read. This has been going on for well over a year now and has made a huge difference to so many children in our school.
In addition to this, we have been lucky enough to have sixth formers from Joseph Swan and Emmanuel College coming in every week to listen to our children read and play games with them. So thanks too to all of the students and staff who have helped make this such a success. All of the hard work has really paid off as the children are gaining confidence in their reading every week.
Any parents/grandparents/carers who would like to come in and spend a few hours a week listening to children read would be more than welcome (please ask in the office for a CRB form or come in and we can have a chat!).
