Parents' Forum 2010

Parents Forum 2.jpg

We are going to re-start Caedmon's Parents Forum. For those who do not know I will explain a little bit about how it works and the history of the group.

In 2008 we started the 'Parents Forum' as a way of giving the parents' of children at Caedmon School a voice. We used to meet every three weeks to discuss topics on an agenda and to work together to make the school even better.

This was a very successful group and many changes were made at school as a result of discussions with parents and their ideas were taken forward. This group became the Friends of Caedmon. Which is now a very successful group who organise many events for the children at Caedmon. You could say this was one of the most successful elements of the Parents' Forum.

However, we are looking to re-start the group and I will be inviting all parents to attend a meeting within the next week. You will be getting a letter about this in the next few days. If you would like to know more come and see me at school or come to the meeting on Thursday 4th March. In the letter I will ask you what is the best time: before school, during school or after school.

I look forward to this group re-starting and your help in constantly improving Caedmon School.

Clive Wisby (Head Teacher).

Healthy School.

Caedmon was awarded Healthy School status for the next three years.

In order to keep this award and continue to meet the standards we need to ensure that children are eating healthily in school. School dinners are monitored for this very closely by the School Food Trust. As a school we will be monitoring the packed lunches more closely in the coming term. We will be giving you guidance on what should not be brought into school in packed lunches.

You can look at the School Food Trust website www.schoolfoodtrust.org.uk

I would also like to recommend to the parents of children who do not have school dinners to let their children have a try. We have been working very hard with the school dinners service to provide the children with a variety of tasty options.

Here is a list of useful websites that you might want to have a look at as a guide:
